Louis-Benoit Desvignes and his sister Claude-Emmanuelle Desvignes today run this historic estate in Morgon. This 13-hectare domaine produces some of the longest-lived and most serious wines in the Beaujolais. Old vines, organically farmed and harvested late, produce grapes that see traditional winemaking with whole clusters, long macerations and a submerged cap. The result is a range of inky, saturated reds with plenty of character and structure, and the top cuvées will have no trouble evolving for two decades.

Other Reviews....
The 2020 Morgon Côte du Py Javernières is brilliant, unwinding in the glass with aromas of wild berries, spices, rose petals, loamy soil and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with impressive reserves of ripe tannin and sapid fruit, it's seamless and lively, concluding with a long, resonant finish. As ever, this is built to age, and it will reward patience, even if its youthful charms are considerable. Drink 2024 - 2037.

William Kelley - Wine Advocate (Aug 2021)

Exotic and spicy, cardamom and rose petals, liquorice, blackberry and leaf. It’s tight, very ‘mineral’, with spicy blackberry and firm graphite tannin, depth and concentration, and a finish that long, spicy and perfumed with dried rose. Concentrated and so impressive, yet stays true to region and grape. Outstanding. Drink 2022 - 2030+.
