Cellar: Drink now - 2 Years (2021-2023)

This delightful Pinot Gris was barrel fermented in seasoned oak with around 20% left on skins to enhance colour and complexity. The wine was then matured on lees in used French oak barriques.
Brilliant apricot skin tinged colour with a watery hue. Beautifully scented the nose offers up pear, red apple skin and quince scents with some light honeysuckle and spicy musk notes in the background. Nicely rounded in the mouth, the palate picks up flavours of pear, red apple and quince which are supported by a stony back drop. Finishes dry with crisp acidity and a medium length aftertaste that has a dash of spice to it.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
Alc. 12.5%

Other Reviews….
Pinot gris. Upper Yarra. Made by Franco D’Anna. 127 dozen. Sees a bit of old oak before being transferred to stainless steel.
It’s pretty much everything you could hope for in a Pinot Gris. It’s aromatic, textural, rich with flavour and the finish boasts noteworthy persistence. It’s balanced too: nothing sticks out, not the oak, not the acidity, nothing. It feels refined even as it bursts forward with flavour. Drink 2020-2023.
