Matured for 11 months in French oak of which 20% was new. Midnight black heart with a deep dark red hue. Nosing offers up spiced dark plum, liquorice and peppered meat notes with some dried herb and scorched earth notes also chiming in. Rich fleshy dark plum and liquorice fruits overlay vanillin cedar, earth and peppered meat characters on mid weighted palate. Ripe sturdy tannin structure with a slightly chewy finish.
