Certified organic and biodynamic with a portion of Petit Verdot and Shiraz Viognier also included in the blend for added complexity. Maturation took place in a mix of French, American and Hungarian hogshead barrels for a period of 13 months of which 25% were new. Dense inky black heart with a deep dark red black hue. Wafting from the glass are heady scents of ripe blackberry, liquorice and dark plum followed by a whiff of blueberry, lightly toasted vanillin oak and peppered dried herb notes. Rich and plush, opulent dark plum, blackberry and liquorice fruits fill the mouth with spicy vanillin oak, black olive and blackpepper characters lying underneath. Velvety tannins are counterpointed by bright acidity. The aftertaste generous yet vibrant in its feel.
