2020 Journeys End Naturist Chardonnay

Even though the majority of this wine was matured in neutral oak, with only a small proportion in new 'Vicard' French oak barriques, the end result is a rich, full bodied style of Chardonnay that will only fill out further with time. Winemaker Ben Riggs has added back an additional 10% of tank fermented juice to provide freshness and vibrancy to the final wine.
Bright pale straw to straw colour with a faint tinge of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Pronounced ripe peach and apricot top notes intermingle with honeycomb, light butterscotch, lemon butter and spice. On the palate rich peach and apricot fruits mix with honeycomb and lemon butter to form a fleshy textural feel. Traces of butterscotch, toasty oak and spice linger in the background. Finishes with a lick of freshness and a cream tinged aftertaste.
