2020 Gioiello Estate Old Hill Chardonnay

Fermented in French oak barriques using wild yeasts and left to mature on lees for 8 months. Brilliant pale straw colour with a subtle tinge of green to the edges and a watery hue. White peach and nectarine scents meld into light bacon fat, dried honey and gun flint notes. Mid weighted, there’s good richness to the fleshy white peach, ripe nectarine and dried honey flavours which are gently creamed in their textural feel. Delicate biscuity nougat, citrus and spice characters lie underneath. Excellent freshness with a long-refined aftertaste.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
