Aged in a mix of new and seasoned French oak. Impenetrable pitch black heart with a very deep black dark red hue. Intense blackcurrant scents drift out of the glass trailed by liquorice, vanillin cedar, subtle tobacco, earth and bay leaf like notes. Exceptionally rich and concentrated, lush blackcurrant and liquorice fruits overlay toasty vanillin cedar, earthy graphite, subtle dried herb and tobacco characters. A firm, robust tannin structure lends a muscular feel. Long, slightly grippy, rich black fruited conclusion.
