The 2020 Juffer Sonnenuhr GG is excitingly clear, fresh and precise on the nose. Lush and round on the palate, this is an intense and tensioned, finely grippy, long and salty JSU whose energy, precision and freshness is outstanding. Tasted in Wiesbaden in August 2021. Drink 2027 - 2045.

The 2020er Juffer-Sonnenuhr Riesling Trocken GG, as it is referred to on the consumer label, offers a complex and multi-layered nose of cassis, greengage, candied grapefruit, orange blossom, and vineyard peach. The wine proves beautifully creamy but also superbly spicy and minty on the palate and leaves a nice sense of lightness and energy in the focused finish. The aftertaste is all about fine spices and smoke. This very subtle and filigreed expression of dry Riesling is a huge success. Drink 2024-2040.

A generous expression of peach and citrus fruit aromas is accompanied by a subtle herbal notion reflecting the action of natural yeast. The flavour opens with a sweet flicker of ripe fruit before a rock-solid minerality, with nuances of graphite and quinine, takes charge of the flavour. A third dimension is added by an almost medicinal expression of spices. Drink 2023 – 2032.
