From 24 year old vines with 20% whole bunch inclusion and maturation taking place in French oak puncheons of which 25% were new. Translucent cherry red colour with a very light red hue. Fragrant red cherry and strawberry scents infused with violets intermingle with clove, forest floor and spicy cedar notes. Light and fresh, delicious red cherry, rhubarb and winter strawberry fruits carry a supple textural feel. Forest floor, clove, dried meat and spicy cedar elements lie underneath. Very polished tannins with a lick of lively acidity on the elegant, savoury finish.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Other Reviews….
Strange to say, but this puts me in mind of some Pinot Noir from days of yore. Like Diamond Valley Close Planted, or something like that. I know, I’m getting on a bit when I say things like that, though I reckon CM would also see the similarity, not least because he’s much older than me. And possibly wiser. And also probably loves this style of Pinot Noir. Spicy, minty, strawberry and autumnal. It’s fresh, crisp and kind of sappy, but in a good way. A bit of tang, some orange zest flavour too, a cool feathering of emery tannin, and a juicy red fruited finish of fine length. Really nice wine. Should age well. Drink 2023-2029+
