2020 Dromana Estate Tuerong Park Pinot Noir
A delicious, supple and fresh Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir that offers terrific value.
Established in 1982, Dromana Estate was one of the early pioneers to recognise the potential of the Mornington Peninsula. Their Tuerong Park label are single vineyard wines produced from selected parcels of fruit and offer great bang for your buck.
Semi translucent bright red colour with a light red hue. The nose is both pretty and fragrant featuring a bouquet of red cherries, strawberries, violets and anise which meld into forest floor, sappy cedar and spicy fresh herbs. Delicious red fruits are both supple and fresh in their feel with spicy red cherry and winter strawberry flavours spread across the lighter bodied palate. Traces of anise, forest floor, rhubarb, dried herbs and spicy cedar evolve on the back half. Finishes with lively acidity, silky smooth tannins and a long savoury, spicy red fruited aftertaste complexed by dried herb and forest floor characters.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

This is wonderfully composed and complex on the nose showing sweet cherry, thyme, clove and toasted nut aromas with a hint of warm mushroom. The concentrated palate offers beautifully layered mouthfeel and spicy nuances, finishing superbly long and expansive. At its best: 2022 to 2032.

A pallid ruby hue shifts into a gear of aromatic intensity with riffs on fecund strawberry, red cherry, sassafras and rose hip. I like this. There is a real succulence to the mid-palate as the scents reverberate across a gentle twine of tannic astringency, well nestled oak and crunchy maritime acidity, towing it long. An effortless wine that is ready to drink, although primary notes will shuffle to forestry and gamey scents with five-years or so of patience. Less sweet than many Australian Pinots. Savoury, pliant and expansive. Delicious.
