2020 Dominique Portet Fontaine Cabernet Sauvignon

A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 2% Malbec and 1% Cabernet Franc matured in French oak (20% new) for a period of 14 months. Deep dark red black shaded core with a dark red hue. Elevated red to black currant aromas mingle with black olive, cigar box, faint bay leaf and spice. Medium bodied the palate is elegantly flavoured with red currant and mulberry fruits which meld into dusty cedar, tobacco and bay leaf characters on the back half. Fine grained tannin structure with some spice to the savoury conclusion.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.

With 12% merlot and the all-important 2% malbec and 1% cabernet franc! Matured in French barrels for 14 months (20% new). A medium crimson. Lifted and attractive nose redolent of boysenberries and other briary fruits. A simply delicious and approachable medium-bodied wine with fresh fruit, supple tannins and moreish acidity. Great value. Drink by 2026.
