2020 Domaine Valfont Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence Rose

Made from a blend of 50% Grenache, 35% Cinsault and 15% Syrah. Pale salmon pink in colour. Aromas of peach and citrus mix with subtle musk and stony mineral notes. Refreshing peach, citrus and delicate raspberry fruits overlay a wet stone and mineral back drop. Slippery mid palate feel finishing dry with crisp acidity and a light tang to the elegant aftertaste.

50% Grenache, 35% Cinsault, 15% Syrah, one for the purists, says importer Felix Riley. Red fruit, citrus, quite floral too, violets maybe, and some spice. It feels fine and chalky, refreshing red fruits with a subtle blood orange zest bitterness on long clean finish. Very good.
