Mee Godard is one of the shining lights of Beaujolais, crafting uncompromising and sumptuous wines from her vineyards located primarily in Morgon, along with a tiny parcel in Moulin-a-Vent. Across this small estate most of the vines are very old, averaging 60 years plus, and the vines are tended organically with a clear goal of using biodynamic practices in the near future. Mee aims to produce wines with the capacity to age extremely well, and as such can benefit from good aeration, or preferably a few years in the cellar.

Other Reviews....
The 2020 Morgon Côte du Py is taut and structured this year, unwinding in the glass with notes of sweet berries, plums, loamy soil, vine smoke and spices. Medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with fine concentration and plenty of ripe, powdery tannin, it will demand at least a year or two of patience. Drink 2023 - 2036.

A very great Morgon! Concentrated amarena-cherry character is wrapped around a stunning tannin structure that’s imposing, but also plush. Great brilliance at the super mineral finish that cascades over the palate, the serious yet fine tannins kicking this ever further down the road. Drinkable now, but best from 2024.
