Markedly spicier and very pretty aromas include those of red and dark raspberry, herbal tea and a whiff of the sauvage, all of which is trimmed in subtle oak. The succulent, refined and stony medium weight flavors possess a lovely sense of underlying tension on the caressing punch punchy and balanced finale. Drink: 2030+.

The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Damodes 1er Cru showed some reduction on the nose, but there is plenty of fruit here. The palate is medium-bodied, quite elegant and pure, smooth in texture with a discrete pinch of white pepper and allspice towards the finish. I like this manner in which this builds in the mouth. Juicy and mouthfilling. Drink: 2025-2045.

Bright, dark, dense purple colour, rich succulent and sumptuous raspberry but happily without coarseness, just exuberance. Some black fruit, this does show signs of being high octane but is rained in by the delicious freshness of the acidity.
