Domaine Charles Audoin was formed in 1972 by Charles and his oenologist wife Marie-Francoise, starting with three hectares in Marsannay. Their holding has now grown to around 14 hectares that captures some of the best parcels in Marsannay. Their son Cyril joined his father in 2000, and is now in charge of both vineyard and winemaking activities for the Domaine. Cyril is increasingly focused on vineyard health, to deliver wines with pure varietal expression and a sense of place. They are among the most serious wines from the area, and while juicy and approachable young, have the capacity to age gracefully for many years.

Other Reviews....
A ripe and generous but precisely balanced white Burgundy with a cool nose of citrus, fresh nuts and a touch mint. You could easily mistake this for a Meursault 1er Cru from a top producer, thanks to the amazingly rich and silky texture, then the very long, salty-mineral finish. Drink or hold.

Here too there is enough wood to warrant mentioning on the slightly riper aromas of petrol and various white-fleshed fruit. The sleeker and coiled middle weight flavors exude evident minerality on the balanced and lingering finish where the wood expressed by the nose resurfaces. This is sufficiently forward to drink well young, but it should be better with a few years of keeping. Drink to 2024+.
