2020 Domaine Bachelet-Monnot Maranges La Fussiere Blanc Premier Cru
Other Reviews....
This is also lightly smoky with its aromas of pear, apple and abundance of fresh citrus nuances. Like the Santenay there is excellent intensity to the more obviously mineral-driven flavors that also conclude in a lingering if youthfully austere finale that would benefit from developing a bit more depth. Drink from 2025+.

The 2020 Maranges La Fussières 1er Cru Blanc has a vibrant bouquet of fresh grass clipping, gooseberry and citrus peel aromas, taut and somehow a little Muscadet-like. The palate is fresh on the entry and offers a fine bead of acidity and flavors of lime and Granny Smith apples mixed with subtle apricot and white peach notes toward the finish. Real vim and vigor here. Excellent. Drink 2024-2038.

Located close by the Santenay but there is more clay here. Clear pale colour. More complex white fruit and flowers on the nose. Flesh beneath. Very harmonious, then minerals then fruit again, concentrated very juicy apple. Excellent! I kept going back to this which could be the domaine’s finest Fussière to date.
