2020 David Duband Latricieres-Chambertin Grand Cru

David Duband is regarded as one of the rising stars of Burgundy. He took over his family domaine at a very young age and now has more than 20 vintages of experience behind him. Starting out with small family holdings David, together with his business partner Francois Feuillet, have added to their portfolio of wines through the purchase of some exceptional old Grand cru vineyards throughout Gevrey Chambertin and Morey St Denis, including prime holdings of retiring vigneron Jacky Truchot.

A cool, airy and super-elegant nose reflects aromas of spice, red currant and various red berries. The gorgeously textured and chiseled middle weight flavors seem to be built on a base of minerality, all wrapped in dusty, backward and overtly austere finish that also delivers huge length. This is a classic and beautiful Latricières that makes clear it will take its sweet time maturing. Drink 2035+.
