Matured in French (15% new) and American oak barrels. Impenetrable inky black in colour with an equally deep black dark red hue. Heady ripe blackberry and liquorice scents mix with dark plum, vanillin cedar, hints of leather and spice. Rich, bold, bright and opulent, blackberry, liquorice and dark plum fruits are cast across the full bodied palate. Notions of vanillin cedar, earth and spice lie underneath. Fresh acidity combines with a sturdy framework of tannins. The conclusion bright, juicy and of medium length.
