2020 Craggy Range Te Muna Road Vineyard Pinot Noir

The Te Muna Road Vineyard is located some 7 kilometres outside of the Martinborough township and consists of two distinct terraces, the higher comprising very old, stony clay-infused soils perfect for Pinot Noir. Made with the inclusion of 27% whole bunch fruit the wine was matured in French oak barriques (25% new) for a period of 13 months.
Deep dark red black tinged colour with a dark red hue. The nose has a perfumed like quality to it with intense violet, dark cherry, anise and strawberry aromas filling the nostrils. Spicy cedar, subtle scorched earth and herb notes are also evident. Rich, concentrated and mouth filling the palate is awash with fleshy textured dark to black cherry, anise and strawberry fruits. Undertones of delicately toasted spicy oak, earth and infusions of fresh herbs ensue. Polished tannins concluding with a superb power wave of spicy dark fruits.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
