Fermented with 30% whole bunches and matured in seasoned French oak for 5 months. Deep black dark red colour with a bright dark red hue. Fragrant aromas of dark cherries, red plum and liquorice have an incense like overlay with notions of fresh herbs and spice also evident. Juicy ripe cherry, red raspberry and red liquorice fruits flood the mouth over a background of incense and wild herb infusions. A dash of spice also chiming in. Fresh vibrant feel with bright acidity, polished tannins and a delicious red fruited aftertaste.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 14%
Other Reviews….
Fermented as whole berries in beeswax-lined vessels with 15% whole bunches. Aged in a small amount of neutral oak. Dark plum, Asian medicinal riffs and a gentle swathe of dusty tannins across a broad finish. A wine designed for early drinking. Drink by 2023.
