Château Pegau is Laurence and Paul Féraud’s 60 hectare estate, located in Sorgues, less than 6 km from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The wines regularly over deliver, showcasing the estate’s excellent terroir, with the unmistakable imprint of Pegau. Made by Laurence Feraud in the recently built cellar at the estate, the Cuvee Setier is a blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Mouvèdre & 20% Syrah.

An old world style of Cotes du Rhone that shows plenty of rustic charm.

Totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep dark red hue. The nose is charged with black raspberry, liquorice and black cherry fruits infused with Provincial herbs, hints of leather and peppered earth notes. Rich black raspberry and liquorice fruits carry good weight across the mid weighted palate with notions of black cherries, smoked meats, herbs du Provence and peppered earth characters lying underneath. Fleshy mouth feel with ripe chewy tannins lending some gentle grip to the finish that sees the emergence of some old leather characters.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews….
A step up, the 2020 Côtes Du Rhône Villages Cuvée Setier offers more purity and elegance, with a great nose of ripe darker, almost black fruits, pepper, leather, and herbes de Provence. This medium-bodied, pure, seamless, terrifically balanced 2020 is perfect for drinking any time over the coming 7-8 years. Drink 2022-2030.
