2020 Chateau Beauregard Ducasse Cuvee Albert Duran
Chateau Beauregard Ducasse was established in 1850 by Albert Duran and is now run by Albert Perromat, who is the 7th generation of the family to own and run the estate. The winery is situated in Mazeres in the south of the Graves AOC where the vineyards sit on complex soils of gravel, sand and iron. Reaching elevations of up to 113 meters above sea level, it is one of the highest vineyards in the appellation.
A delicious entry level Bordeaux, clearly demonstrating that great value is still to be found in this prestigious terroir.
A blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a vibrant dark red hue. Delighting the olfactory senses are aromas of violets, red currant and red liquorice which are complimented by some vanillin cedar, earth, tobacco and spice notes. The beautifully balanced mid weighted palate is layered with delicious ripe red currant and red liquorice fruits which are framed by a refined, graphite like tannin structure. Slightly grainy feel with a dry sturdy finish. Notions of vanillin cedar, tobacco, earth and spice interspersed throughout the long, elegant aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
