Best’s impressive range of Great Western Shiraz has long taken centre stage with their Cabernets sitting in the shadows. Showcasing the regions elegance and cool climate structure the Cabernet possesses dense rich fruit and is capable of cellaring for up to 20 years. At under $25 it consistently delivers terrific value.

Opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. An elegant aromatic profile of red currants and mulberries infused with delicate spice and fresh herbs is followed by dusty cedar and faint black olive notes. Medium bodied and ultra refined red currant and mulberry fruits are underpinned by bright acidity with some earth, dried herbs, black olives and spicy cedar in the background. Fine graphite like tannins with a savoury aftertaste. A very elegant expression of Great Western Cabernet.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 14%

Other Reviews….
Delivers a nuanced interpretation of the grape, proving once again that cabernet is right at home in the Grampians. Briar, bush mint, bay leaf, bracken and earth here, a dollop of vanillin oak and concentrated black fruits there, with taut tannins laying the groundwork for a long, brilliant future. Drink by 2035.
