Maturation takes place in a combination of American and French oak barrels for a period of 12 months. Impenetrable inky black in colour with a deep dark red black hue. Heady ripe dark plum and liquorice aromas meld into lightly smoked vanillin oak, fennel, earth and distinct blackpepper end notes. Rich, spicy dark plum and liquorice fruits have a fresh juicy feel. Smoky vanillin cedar, fennel and peppered earth characters follow on. Velvet smooth tannins with a fleshy medium to long conclusion.
