Another cuvée that's pressed in house is the 2020 Puligny-Montrachet Clos des Noyers Brets, a medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny wine evocative of peach, orange oil, green apple, white flowers and fresh bread. Layered and precise, it's fleshier and more enveloping than the Rue aux Vaches. Drink 2021 - 2038.

Comprising of nine barrels, the 2020 Puligny-Montrachet Clos des Noyers Bret comes from Pernot’s own vineyard. I appreciate the mineralité on this Puligny, crushed limestone and petrichor flanked by Granny Smith apple aromas. The palate is very well balanced with a fine thread of acidity. Real tension and salinity here, a touch of bitter lemon judiciously used on the finish. Delicious. Drink 2023 - 2036.

Pale lemon and lime. Slight cats pee to the nose, very different in style to Rue aux Vaches. Then a burst of exciting fruit on the palate, fresh yet ripe apricots, not so ripe as to induce peaches, and with a salivatory acidity. Another beautiful village cuvée.
