Yeringberg are dab hands with Viognier. Picked over 8 days, to balance acid with flavour, they say.
Hits all the Viognier markers. Jasmine, ginger, fresh apricot, lime and lemon. It’s bright, packed with varietal flavour, yet keeps itself trim and lively, succulence and perfume, heady spice and fine powdery texture, with a lychee and ginger laden finish of excellent length. All just so. Top shelf. Drink 2021 - 2024+

Few producers can match Yeringberg's viognier. Harmony is the aspiration, achieved by picking fruit over 8 days, so there's acidity, freshness and ripeness. There's also wild fermentation in barrel, no mlf and maturation in large-format, used oak. Ripe stone fruit, apricot and kernel, with ginger cream drizzled in honey. All tempered by lemon zest acidity and lime marmalade tang. There's richness here, without heaviness. A lovely viognier. Drink by 2027.
