Impenetrable inky black core with a deep dark red black hue. Sailing out of the glass are dark plum and liquorice scents infused with blackpepper followed by vanillin cedar, smoked meats and spicy dried herbs. Rich and fleshy yet also vibrant, the medium bodied palate is flush with dark plum and liquorice fruits which evolve into dried herb, vanillin cedar, smoked meat and black pepper characters on the back half. Polished tannins with a savoury finish that picks up subtle earthy nuances.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
Alc. 14%

Other Reviews….
Aside from the striking deep garnet hue that immediately beckons, this starts out a bit shy. Let it be. Let it breathe. It will then unfurl to reveal a savoury, refined wine. Dark fruit, a dusting of pepper and licorice, mocha, warm earth and Aussie bush aromas. It works off a medium-bodied palate with the most exquisite tannins. Top of the class. Drink by 2032.
