2019 Woodlands Wilyabrup Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

A blend of 69% Cabernet Sauvignon and 31% Merlot matured for 14 months in French oak of which 15% were new. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Expressive red to black currant and mulberry scents flood the nostrils trailed by some vanillin cedar, tobacco, hints of spicy black olive and bay leaf. Combining richness with a refined feel the palate features spicy red to black currant and mulberry fruits over a back drop of dusty vanillin cedar, tobacco and bay leaf. The tannins have a polished feel yet provide plenty of underlying structure. Concludes long and savoury.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Very attractive currant and blackberries with some hazelnut and mushroom undertones. Medium-bodied with firm and polished tannins and a savory and delicious finish. Beautiful Bordeaux blend. This will improve with age. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
