Named after the nearby historic Memsie Estate, established in 1839 on the banks of the Loddon River, this is a blockbuster central Victorian Shiraz that over delivers big time - lower yields and a slightly longer ripening period for the 2019 vintage producing fruit with tremendous intensity of flavour. A blend of 90% Shiraz, 5% Malbec and 5% Petit Verdot with 50% of the wine was aged in third fill or older oak hogsheads for a period of 12 months.

Possessing remarkable richness and concentration, it’s difficult to imagine packing more into a sub $10 wine than this.

Magnificent super saturated inky black colour with an equally deep black dark red hue. Heady ripe blackberry, liquorice and black plum aromas jump out of the glass closely followed by some toasty vanillin oak and peppered earth notes. Rich, heavy and opulently textured it delivers remarkable concentration and depth for its miserly price. An explosion of lush blackberry, liquorice and black cherry fruits engulf every corner of the mouth with toasty vanillin oak, earth and blackpepper elements lying beneath. Firm yet polished tannins. Thick and dense it finishes long, plush and chewy.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
