Voyager Estate has some of the oldest Chenin Blanc vines in Margaret River, with some plantings going back as far as 1978. The vineyard soils are mostly gravelly loams with a stony clay subsoil. With excellent drainage and good moisture-holding capacity, they produce fruit with exceptional balance. The wine was predominantly fermented in stainless steel with 5% of the blend was fermented in three-year-old French oak and then aged for a further two months with weekly batonnage prior to blending.
Brilliant water like colour with a distinct tinge of green around the outskirts. A mixture of red and green apple aromas flow through the nostrils with subtle notions of pear, faint musk and quince also evident. Featuring terrific intensity and energy, the palate is filled with juicy pear, apple and honeysuckle flavours which overlay traces of musk and spicy quince. Luscious in it’s feel finishing dry, vibrant and long.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Alc. 14%
