The Chardonnay was fermented and matured in French oak barriques whilst the Semillon was tank fermented. Brilliant pale straw colour with a watery hue. Aromas of nectarine and pear mix with green apple, lime, hints of wet steel and gun flint. Linear by design the palate features a racy flavour profile of green pear, lime and granny smith apple. Subtle notions of wet steel, light toast and flinty mineral characters lying beneath. Finishes dry with snappy acidity and a focused aftertaste.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
Alc. 11.5%

Other Reviews....
A style steeped in Hunter history, with the tank-fermented semillon imparting acidity, while the barrel-fermented chardonnay evokes generosity: poached stone fruits, creamed cashew and nougat. Makes sense. Long and tensile, with the capacity to age or the offer of immediate gratification. A dry, vibrant and flavoursome white. Drink by 2027.

Kind of a cult wine, or something like that. Wisp of struck match, lime, white peach. tingle and zesty character, chalky feel, decent length with some bitterness on exit. Bit choppy as at now, and not quite the required richness and verve for a classic 63, though should improve with some bottle age. Drink by 2020 - 2028.
