2019 Trimbach Schlossberg Grand Cru Riesling
In 2012 Trimbach purchased a 2 hectare site in this south facing granite based Grand cru. Their holding is located quite high up on the slope near the castle and benefits from the cool air flowing out of the forest which results in a wine of freshness and great finesse, length and refinement.
Very citrusy with orange-blossom and bergamot notes, this is a super-mineral dry riesling with quite an austere personality. Give it some air if you can, and a seafood platter would help too. Very long, tight and firm finish. Drink or hold.
