2019 Thierry Glantenay Pommard les Riottes
Less developed than its Volnay sibling due to a late malolactic fermentation, the 2019 Pommard Les Riottes mingles notes of plums and berries with hints of smoke and orange rind. Medium to full-bodied, deep and elegantly muscular, there's more heft and substance here than in the corresponding Volnay, without any loss of refinement.
William Kelley - Wine Advocate (Jan 2021)
The only cuvée to be taken from vat instead of barrel, the 2019 Pommard Les Riottes has a potent bouquet with black cherries and blueberry fruit laced with iris and violets. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy black fruit with a hint of cassis. Nicely balanced with a touch more cohesion that Glantenay’s Volnay, I envisage this aging nicely. Drink 2022 - 2035.
