While there is a trace of reduction it's not enough to completely suppress the citrusy white orchard aromas. The caressing and suave medium weight flavors possess a fine mouthfeel while the youthfully austere and dry finale is shaped by firmer lemon-tinged acidity. I like the balance as well as the fine complexity and this should amply reward a decade plus of keeping. In a word, lovely. Drink 2029+.

Allen Meadows - Burghound

The 2019 Meursault Charmes 1er Cru comes 70% from Dessus and 30% from Dessous. It has an impressive bouquet of fine delineation and focus and impressive mineralité. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, and harmonious from beginning to end. This Charmes lives up to its name with a slightly honeyed but very tensile finish. Superb. Drink 2023 - 2040.

With a paler colour than many, this is a discreet Charmes up front before it explodes into action half way through on the palate. There is a profusion of lemon banana notes, still with good acid too, middleweight, but stylish.
