Other Reviews....
A more restrained nose combines notes of ripe and fresh black raspberry, warm earth and wood toast. The delicious, round and plump medium weight flavors possess better mid-palate density while exhibiting touches of austerity and rusticity on the mildly warm finale. This should benefit from a few years of patience. Drink 2025+.

From two parcels, the 2019 Auxey-Duresses Rouge has a lucid ruby hue. The bouquet is quite high-toned and does not possess the refinement of the Monthélie. The palate is medium-bodied and a little chewy on the entry. One of the more rustic wines from the domaine, with a grippy finish. Drink 2022 - 2030.

20% new wood. One plot next to Meursault, Boutonniers, since pulled out to plant in white, plus Heptures. Here the Matrots like to pick later to avoid rustic tannins. Dense purple, Elsa thinks the richer fruit covers the tannins better even though it cannot bring finesse. Certainly an excellent density here, but less finesse and a touch spicier, with white pepper.
