2019 Tenuta Montanello Langhe Nebbiolo

Tenuta Montanello is currently owned and run by 5th generation winemaker, Alberto Racca and although he also grows small amounts of Barbera and Dolcetto, Nebbiolo is their principal variety accounting for 70% of vineyard plantings. Coming from the cooler 2019 vintage and off vines approximately 30 year old vines, with a short 10 days maceration and no oak, this is a super fresh and vibrant expression of Nebbiolo.

Bright red in colour with black tinged edges and a light red hue. Fragrant red cherry and red currant scents mix with a whiff of rose petals, light earth, fresh herbs and delicate tobacco notes. Juicy and loaded with energy the delicious palate features ripe red cherry, red liquorice and red raspberry fruits over a subtle earthy dried herb and spicy tobacco back drop. Vibrant fresh acidity underpins the delightful fruit profile with muscular tannins lending grip to the long red fruited conclusion.
