2019 Tedeschi Capitel San Rocco Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore

Made using the ancient winemaking technique called Ripasso with ageing then taking place for approximately 1-2 years in Slavonian oak barrels. Deep dark red core with black shaded edges and a dark red hue. Elevated morello and dried cherry aromas mix with some red liquorice, dried herb, earth and spice notes. Rich and spicy the palate is filled with ripe Morello cherry and dried cherry flavours which overlay an earthy tobacco and dried herb back drop. A robust tannin structure lends some chewiness to the mouth feel. Very spicy, generously fruited finish.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
