Domaine Simon Bize et Fils has to be one of the best kept secrets in Burgundy today. Famed for producing wines with impressive capacity for cellaring, under the care of Chisa Bize the wines are also more dynamic and show greater aromatic detail. The Domaine has some of the oldest average vine age anywhere in the Cote d'Or, and Chisa practices her amalgam of organics and biodynamics coined as "Bize-dynamics". Yields are kept low, and winemaking utilises a high percentage of whole-cluster fermentation.

Other Reviews....
The 2019 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Marconnets soars from the glass with scents of roses, exotic spices, raspberries, blackberries and musk. Medium to full-bodied, bright and perfumed, its enveloping core of crunchy fruit girdled by lively acids and underpinned by powdery tannins, it concludes with a long, fragrant finish.

William Kelley - Wine Advocate (Jan 2021)

The 2019 Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Marconnets 1er Cru shows less stem character than the Les Fourneaux, opening with blackberry, briar, undergrowth and white pepper aromas. The palate is well balanced with plenty of freshness that proprietor Chisa Bize puts down to strict early-morning picking. Lightly spiced toward the finish, with a briny tang on the aftertaste. Give it 3–4 years in bottle. Drink 2023-2038.

Neal Martin - Vinous

Buoyant mid purple in colour. Solid powerful deep red fruit, raspberry and cherry, many more tannins in the Marconnets, which gives grip, ahead of elegance. Solid and satisfying though.
