Made from a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 14% Malbec and 6% Cabernet Franc. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Aromas of blackcurrant infused with a mix of black olives and bay leaf are followed by hints of cigar box, earth and spice. Rich blackcurrant fruit is carried by a sturdy backbone of firm tannins. Notions of cigar box, black olive and spicy dried herbs are also present on the back half. Slightly grippy, robust conclusion.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 14%

Other Reviews….
An ecumenical blend of estate-planted (1978–2009) 52/28/14/6% cabernet sauvignon/merlot/malbec/cabernet franc. Selectiv'-machine harvested, 10 days on skins and 19 months in French hogsheads (40% new). The colour and bouquet open up with plenty on show, but it's the full-bodied palate that sweeps all before it, the oak particularly feisty and the black fruits complex and commanding. Drink by 2035.

James Halliday – Australian Wine Companion

A wine that is a tribute to the Jesuit Order which founded this historic winery and vineyard back in 1851. It’s a blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, malbec, and cabernet franc. Bright red fruits on the nose with a little spice and floral fragrances. The palate is supported by grainy tannins and ample oak with a strong flavour profile. It is a wine with the power and structure to handle extended cellaring. Drink 2022-2040.
