2019 Seabrook The Chairman Great Western Shiraz

The Seabrook family have a long history in the Australian wine industry, dating back to 1878 when William Seabrook established one of Australia’s earliest wine merchants, W.J. Seabrook & Son. Today, fifth generation member Hamish Seabrook carries on the tradition. After graduating from Adelaide University with a bachelor of Oenology, Hamish went on to make wine for Best’s Great Western where industry legend Viv Thomson took him under his wing. After several other senior winemaking roles, Hamish established his own brand continuing the families long involvement in the wine industry.
Dense black dark red colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Intense ripe blackberry, liquorice and dark chocolate aromas take hold of the olfactory senses with some vanillin cedar, earthy mocha and spice also chiming in. Rich and full bodied the palate is lush and plump in its feel with ripe blackberry, liquorice and choc mint flavours overlaying a back drop of vanillin cedar, earthy mocha and spicy pepper characters. Velvet smooth tannins showing excellent depth and power concluding long and plush.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
