2019 Salomon Estate Finniss River Braeside Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

Matured in small French oak barrels, one third new, for a period of 18 months. Dense inky black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Lifted blackcurrant aromas are complimented by black olive, cigar box, earthy tobacco and dried herb notes. Rich blackcurrant and mulberry fruits unfold across the medium to full bodied palate with earthy cigar box, black olive and spicy dried herb elements lying underneath. Firmish tannin structure with a slightly dryish and touch grippy conclusion.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Matured for 18 months in French hogsheads (33% new). Blackcurrant fruit is joined by notes of oak and a whisper of olive tapenade. The mouthfeel of this elegant and medium-bodied cabernet is superb, its freshness doubtless amplified by its modest alcohol, the tannins likewise as the long finish lingers in the mouth. Drink by 2038.
