2019 Rymill Coonawarra Classic Release Cabernet Sauvignon

Matured for 20 months in French oak. Dense inky black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Intense black currant and black olive aromas marry into dusty vanillin cedar, tobacco and spicy bay leaf notes. Rich and full bodied, the palate features concentrated blackcurrant and ripe mulberry fruits over a background of cigar box, earthy tobacco, black olive and spicy dried herb characters. Firm, grippy tannins impart a muscular feel onto the medium to long finish. A large scaled and structured Coonawarra Cabernet.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Blackberry pie (crust and all), licorice, cassis, star anise, bramble, garden mint, cigar box and tobacco leaf. In the mouth the wine is ultra-concentrated, firm and structured. This pays homage to both the variety and the region. It offers truth from every angle, leaving no lingering doubt about where this could possibly have come from, and what grape it is. It has a long life ahead of it. Drink by 2036.
