Dark red in colour with black tinged edges and a reddish hue. Lifted red cherry and raspberry aromatics are complexed by a whiff of rose petals, earth, fresh herbs and spice. Delicious red cherry and ripe winter strawberry fruits have a succulent feel and show excellent intensity. Underneath are subtle nuances of scorched earth, infusions of fresh herbs and crushed rock. Bright, crunchy finish and chalky tannins. Concludes long and vibrant with some light grip. Highly moreish.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

From the prolific Malakoff vineyeard. I think of ‘Strange Brew’ by Cream whenever I read the name. and that’s likely because I’m very very old, or have a fine and eclectic taste in music. Anyway, song suits the wine, in a way.
Poached strawberries garnished with fresh mint, dusted with spice, and maybe some almond paste. Medium-bodied, with red fruit fleshy sweetness, fine silty tannin, some blood orange tang and dried herb, finish is all brick dust tannin and ripe strawberry. Lovely wine. Very Victorian with a nod to the far far North West of the globe. Drink 2020-2028.
