2019 Pieropan Ruberpan Valpolicella Superiore

Dark red in colour with black shaded edges and a slightly rustic red hue. The nose is dominated by fragrant thyme and rosemary scents with some sour to dark cherry, smoky earth and new leather notes also apparent. Rich fruity morello cherry and red liquorice fruits infused with dried herbs such as rosemary are underpinned by vibrant fresh acidity and slightly chewy tannins. Scorched earth, thyme and subtle leather characters lurk on the back half. Medium bodied it concludes energetic and elegant.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

This has a seductive nose of lavender, rosemary, thyme, paprika, spice box and wild berries. So fragrant and full of personality. Medium body. I like the herb and spiced fruit, all finely interwoven and supported by sleek tannins. Long and delicious. Drink or hold.
