Spectacular colour featuring an impenetrable inky black heart along with a very deep dark red black hue. Flowing through the nostrils are intense ripe blackcurrant, mulberry and cigar box aromas with some earthy black olive and bay leaf notes also evident. Engulfing every corner of the mouth are rich, fleshy blackcurrant fruits, well supported by a sturdy tannin structure which firms up the back half. Liquorice, cigar box, earthy black olive and bay leaf characters linger underneath. Excellent density and power with a long opulently fruited yet robust finish.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews….
Barossa cabernet sauvignon is deserving of your attention. This Mentor release (90/10% cabernet sauvignon/ malbec) has a super bright aromatic profile, no doubt from that wee bit of malbec lift, with pure blackberry, blueberry and cassis notes meshing seamlessly with hints of fine spice, earth, licorice, cedar and scattered herbs. Support comes in the way of fine, sandy tannins and the wine elegantly sails off into the distance showing plenty of drive and fruit purity. Great value. Drink by 2033.
