Dense inky black heart with a deep dark red black hue. Gaining momentum as the wine sits in the glass blackberry and liquorice scents show good elevation with dark plum, vanillin cedar and subtle peppered fennel notes also chiming in. Rich, amply weighted and picking up a degree or two of opulence since our original tasting around 18 months ago, the plushly textured palate is layered with blackberry, liquorice and dark plum fruits. Subtlety smoked vanillin cedar, fennel and peppered earth characters lend a refined charm. Excellent power with very polished yet nicely built tannins providing a great framework. The aftertaste long, deeply fruited and peppery.
