2019 Neldner Road Herrmann Kalimna Shiraz

Formerly under the Powell & Son label, the range is now being re-branded Nelder Road. Dave Powell remains as winemaker, however, son Callum has moved onto his own venture.
Aged for 22-24 months in a combination of new and second use French oak barriques. Saturated inky black heart with a very deep black bright dark red hue. Wafting from the glass are scents of dark plum, violets, blackberry and liquorice followed by a whiff of blueberry, vanillin cedar, earthy black olives and peppered herb like notes. Rich, very concentrated and densely textured the palate is engulfed with powerful dark plum, ripe blueberry, liquorice and blackberry fruits. Notions of smoky vanillin oak, earthy black olive and pepper then chime in on the back half. Firm tannin structure with a long opulent yet chewy aftertaste.
