2019 Mt. Wines Heathcote Shiraz

Aged for 10 months in mature French oak barrels. Dense midnight black core with a dark red black tinged hue. Delightful aromas of spicy blackberry, dark plum and liquorice show plenty of intensity out of the glass followed by lightly smoked vanillin cedar, fennel and earthy black pepper notes. Rich juicy dark plum and blackberry fruits drive the palate. Notions of liquorice, vanillin cedar, earthy fennel and black pepper chime in on the back half. Finishes with a youthful freshness, polished yet nicely built tannin structure and long aftertaste that has a succulent yet lively feel to it.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
