2019 Mr Riggs Cold Chalk Chardonnay

Fermented in old French oak barrels and left on lees for 6 months. Brilliant pale straw colour with highlights of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Aromas of nectarine and bees wax have a smoky overlay with hints of citrusy nougat and cinnamon spice also evident. Mid weighted with rounded gently creamy feel, the palate features spicy peach, ripe nectarine and dried honey flavours over a back drop of light gun flint and nougat. Concludes with nicely balanced acidity and a mid length aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
