2019 Mont-Redon Reserve Cotes du Rhone

One of Chateauneuf-du-Pape’s largest estate’s with almost 100 hectares under vine, Mont-Redon also produce a great value Cotes du Rhone. The 2018 a blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah is made from purchased fruit, sees no oak and there’s a touch of carbonic maceration for lift and freshness.
Midnight black at its core with a bright dark red hue. Sailing out of the glass are fragrant aromatics of dark raspberries, red liquorice and ripe cherries which meet up with herbs du Provence and subtle pepper notes. Mid weighted and possessing a youthful freshness, the intensely flavoured palate is blessed with ripe raspberry, plum, red liquorice and cherry fruits. Also chiming in are infusions of herbs du Provence, incense and spicy pepper. Polished tannin structure with a delectably juicy aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
